Clay
coatings provide a bright, smooth printing surface on bleached or natural base paper.
The base paper — used for consumer packaging or printed marketing materials —
must be coated to produce a surface that is bright white, opaque and smooth, with either a
glossy or matte finish. This coating allows the base paper to receive high quality
printing of text and graphics, without bleeding or smudging.
